3Play systems

The course provides basic principles of providing voice-video-internet services, so called triple-play, in convergent networks using internet protocol. Besides over viewing »3play« services the course also focuses on main network technologies which enable users to access convergent services, typical access networks and terminals used for accessing »3play« services.

Goals

After completing the course you will:

  • understand the principles of 3Play services (broadband internet access, VoIP, TV) and have an insight into the functioning of 3Play services
  • be familiar with current broadband technologies and services (xDSL, cable access, FTTx, mobile networks, WiMax) with special emphasis on Ethernet technology
  • have basic knowledge of Internet Protocol based networks in conjuction with 3Play services
  • learn about typical terminal equipment for 3Play services
