The course is an upgrade from IPv6 basics with a detailed presentation of aspects and specifics of providing security in IPv6 networks. It includes an overview of security threats, basic concepts of providing security as well as IPv6 protocol security services, mechanisms for providing security with traffic routing and with mobility support. The practical part of the course includes a test of use and operations of IPv6 protocol security mechanisms on network equipment.

  • Security in multicast: MLD, PIM-SM, PIM SSM
  • Security in mobile IPv6
  • Configuration of security mechanisms on a router and a firewall
